I'm a CPA who spent years inside operator roles before I started advising founders from the outside. Somewhere in that move I noticed the work I actually got paid for wasn't in the documents — the agreements, the org charts, the statutes. It was in the rhythm underneath them. The frequency a business actually runs at, which is almost never the one written down.
That's most of what I write about here: founder psychology, how good decisions get built and how they come apart, and the gap between how a system is supposed to work and how it actually does.
These essays are thinking in progress. I write them because some ideas need more room than a post and less finish than a book. I'd rather work something out in front of you than hand you a clean answer I don't fully trust yet. Some of this will end up in longer work. Some will stay here.
